CIS 130 - Red Hat System Administration I

Red Hat System Administration I is designed for IT professionals without previous Linux system administration experience. The course provides students with Linux administration competence by focusing on core administration tasks. This course also provides a foundation for students who plan to become full-time Linux system administrators by introducing key command-line concepts and enterprise-level tools. Registration by permission code only. Obtain code from faculty advisor.
Course-level Learning Objectives (CLOs)
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to

  1. Run commands and view shell environments.
  2. Manage, organize, and secure files.
  3. Manage users, groups, and user security policies.
  4. Control and monitor system services.
  5. Configure remote access using the web console and Secure Shell [SSH].
  6. Configure network interfaces and settings.
  7. Manage software using Dandified Yum [DNF].
